Nov. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- When Stacey Tucker, also known as “StaceyLu,” was planning her second wedding, she started journaling.  Divorced in 2001 and engaged in 2003, Stacey recorded her whirlwind experience in hopes of helping encore brides navigate uncharted terrain.  The result was Eat, Drink and Remarry (Amazon), her first installment in the StaceyLu’s Guides to Life book series.  What began as a budding memoir, soon became a hybrid -- part self-help, part second wedding guide.  The book serves as a valuable resource for the newly divorced and those engaged for a second time.

Hailing from Carmel, New York, Stacey met her first husband in the 8th grade.  The two married in 1996, then divorced a brief five years later.  In Eat, Drink and Remarry, Stacey revisits her post-divorce years with candor and a reflective eye.  Tucker chooses not to sugar-coat her emotional turmoil, but doesn’t dwell on the bitterness that so often marks divorce.  Instead, she champions perseverance and the importance of emerging triumphantly.  The book also includes accounts from women with similar stories of love lost and new beginnings.

Eat, Drink and Remarry covers the courtship of Ms. Tucker and her new husband, who had just divorced when they began dating.  She gives a snapshot of their romance and current life with a blended family, comprised of her three step-children, plus the 4-year-old son they share.  Life after round two became increasingly busy as Tucker launched StaceyLu’s Confections in 2004 -- a custom cookie business providing birth announcements, wedding favors and the like.  “I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit and loved having my own business.”  No longer baking, Stacey’s new focus is on writing a series of “Life Guides,” in addition to her popular blog, “Saying It Out Loud” at www.staceylu.com.

Ms. Tucker takes into consideration that one’s wedding preferences may have changed since a first marriage and delivers tips for those seeking something fresh.  From choosing the locale for nuptials to writing vows, Stacey gives readers both conventional ideas and creative alternatives.  You may want your “I dos” to take place on the boardwalk or at a museum, or have a civil ceremony versus one that is more traditional in nature.  In addition, using a relevant poem or song lyrics, in lieu of reciting familiar vows, may appeal to you.  And just who will perform the ceremony?  The many and varied options are outlined in Tucker’s book.

Eat, Drink and Remarry also advocates the need to establish a support system early on, be it a wedding planner, family, friends, or simply, your fiance.  “When planning my second wedding, I felt isolated and overwhelmed, having taken on every aspect of the job.  In my research, I learned others felt the same, so I wanted my book to be the written equivalent of a good friend.”

Ultimately, Eat, Drink and Remarry brings forth a message of hope -- hope for self-acceptance, hope for a second chance, hope for newfound love.  Tucker’s book affirms “worth comes from within” -- a message she wants readers to have and to hold.  Eat, Drink and Remarry makes the perfect shower or holiday gift for the newly engaged and is available at www.Amazon.com.
