For existing floors with underfloor heating water systems, we recommend the use of our 25 mm floating floor panels as radiant underfloor heating gives the best comfort levels for humans. Underfloor heating systems makes the complete floor area a low temperature heating panel which means they are far more efficient than radiator systems as the heat is delivered where is should be delivered i.e. at floor level.

Some radiator systems can reach a temperature up to 82 degree C, which is not very safe for young children or the elderly.  This is where water underfloor heating is much safer as it's a low temperature heating system. Additionally, Underfloor heating is perfect for any new build project, one large zone (e.g. a single room), or extensions.  As underfloor heating is seen as a luxury form of heating, it will also add value to your property.  Underfloor heating also works well inline with traditional heating systems such as radiators, so if you don't want to use underfloor heating in every room, that's not an issue.

Installation Guidelines

The minimum pipe bend radius for our HENCO 16 x 2 mm underfloor heating pipework is 80 mm.  Optimum screed thickness is normally 75 mm.  Expansion joints must be used if the floor area is larger than 40 sqm.

Intermediate floors should always have some insulation below the underfloor heating pipework. Normally 30 mm high density insulation is recommended.

Always use a protection layer on top of the insulation to prevent the screed going between the insulation boards.
