Nov. 13, 2011 - PRLog -- It is now taken for granted notion that bits of data lead to information, which leads to knowledge which in turn leads to wisdom.

Located in the heart of Shekhawati region of Rajasthan, Pilani is well known in India today for various top ranking educational institutions, CSIR Laboratory CEERI as well as the upcoming BrahMos Missile Assembly Project unit. Jamuna Mishra Academy – JMA established in the year 2004 which has been making rapid strides in early childhood education is presently one among the top ranking and most sought after schools at Pilani Rajasthan.  JMA which started in 2004 with an enrollment of 60 students for the Nursery, LKG, First Junior and Class 1 has grown today till Class VIII with well over 500 students.

While the school admits both boys and girls, the girl student enrollment has been steadily rising every year and is presently close to 50% of the total strength which itself is a matter of pride in a state like Rajasthan which had alarmingly low record of girl’s education.

Continuing the rich tradition of celebrating various days of national and international significance, JMA celebrated on 11 November 2011 National Education Day to commemorate the birthday of Bharat Ratna Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, a great freedom fighter, an eminent educationist and the First Education Minister of Independent India. He indeed believed that even if a single citizen of the country remained uneducated, the objective of democracy would not be attained.

To fulfill the national commitment of the Right of Children to free and compulsory education, Government of India has launched on 11-11-11 a nationwide campaign “Shiksha Ka Haq Abhiyan”. In this context, Shri Kapil Sibal Honorable Minister HRD had sent a communication to heads of all schools across the country with a request to read aloud the special message by Shri Manmohan Singh Prime Minister of India by a student during the assembly.

At JMA Pilani, Principal Mrs Booma Natarajan in describing Maulana who was called ‘Emperor of Knowledge’ by Mahatma Gandhi pointed out that it was Azad who laid the foundations of India’s educational policy by setting up UGC and IIT etc. JMA Principal also gave an overview of the convention on the Rights of the Child adopted by the UN General Assembly on November 20, 1989.

Master Vishal from Class eight read out the pledge to abide by the mandate of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act by highlighting the 7 salient provisions of the act.

Miss Soumya also from Class eight read out the message by PM. In his message the PM wrote about the right to education campaign and described education as “magic” that transforms lives. He mentioned how the first education minister of the country Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, began teaching at the age of eleven others double his age. The message included about PM’s own education in a village school, where there was no electricity, roads or vehicles. “I owe to education everything that I have achieved in the journey of my life” was an inspiring line in the PM message.

JMA Pilani also has an idea to start a Child Rights Club in the school in coming times.
