Nov. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- Hellfire Publishing writer Robin Renee Ray attends Anne Rice’s annual Vampire Ball in New Orleans, last month.

Robin Renee Ray was invited to Anne Rice’s annual Vampire Ball in New Orleans and was more than happy to give out book marks, signed copies of Living in Darkness and other free gifts in honor of her Bloodbreeders series and her publisher. Robin is more than a pretty face and talented writer; she works behinds the scenes to aid Hellfire Publishing on their road to success. Ms. Ray is a multi-contracted author with five titles scheduled to be released next year, including the second and third installments of the Bloodbreeders series, along with her many short stories that appear in all of Hellfire Publishing’s anthology’s scheduled for 2012. This grandma from New Mexico has a lot to offer; she draws from real life experiences and turns out intriguing and well written stories. Hellfire Publishing’s Dawn Binkley thought an interview with Robin was long overdue…

Interview
Dawn: What was the trip like?

Robin: Being that I do not fly…We drove almost a thousand miles to reach New Orleans. I didn’t care too much for the pain in my backside, but I loved getting to see the beauty of the state of Louisiana. The landscape was amazing!

Dawn: Louisiana, huh, what was that like? I have always wanted to go.

Robin: New Orleans was a blast and I saw my very first street—Hot Dog Seller…LOL. It was so cool! This was in the French Quarter. Everyone was extremely nice and all smiled!

Dawn: Tell us what happened the moment you arrived.

Robin: My first order of business was listening to the wonderful advice given by the panel at the Undead Con. Among wonderful authors, I met screen writers, film curators, and one of the coolest Goth-Rock bands out there: Saints of Ruin…who also performed at the Vampires Ball.

Dawn: Your days sounded like fun. What were the nights like?

Robin: Yep, then it was time for some night fun on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter.

Dawn: So the day of the ball arrived…tell us about that.

Robin: We chilled a lot the day of the Vampire Ball, just hitting a few shops and trying to find me some food…I didn’t like the food there very much and found myself a McDonalds…LOL. Hubby loved it all!

Dawn: There had to be some very cool people there…did you meet anyone special?
Robin: Met the amazing Laurell K Hamilton and she was just so cool! She made me laugh. Met so many wonderful people, but spent most of my time with Trent Kensey and his beautiful wife, Author Kayden McLeod. We were in the VIP section and Ms. Hamilton was sitting down behind me. I was like a kid at Christmas…LOL

Dawn: I know you had such an a great time and it’s hard to pin down one thing, but could you try to tell us one very memorable experience that you had?

Robin: I met Anna Hoglund who was doing research on the world of vampires and those who wrote about them. We met in the foyer and ended up in my room with her film crew. She is from Sweden and absolutely fell in love with my Bloodbreeders book and thrilled to have a signed copy. At first I hadn’t noticed the large black film camera that the man had inches from our faces, it kind of freaked me out at first.

I signed one of my Bloodbreeders books to her and she seemed thrilled to have it. I will be in contact with her again and will try to get a copy of the interview. It was the first time that something like that has ever happen to me, but I do look forward to doing it again. :)

Dawn: Overall it sounds like a great trip.

Robin: This had to be one of the best experiences that I have ever had and I cannot wait to go back, and hit many other Con’s and RW’s…All of this set a fire under me to really be the best writer that I can be!

All thanks goes to Hellfire Publishing and Dawn Binkley for contracting my series. It was my Bloodbreeders book that got me the invite by Anne Rice’s people. An honor that still hasn’t sunk in. :)

Thank you Robin for this interview and this is just the tip of the iceberg for you! There will be lots of Interviews coming your way.
