You will have seen that campingworld.co.uk has undergone some significant visual changes in the last few days as part of an overall re-design to bring the site up to date with how consumers like to browse sites on the web.

We believe that we have built one of the most cutting edge retail platforms incorporating some of the best new technology available to online retail, but there is always a need to change and adapt your website as the consumer browsing experience changes and develops across the internet as a whole.

Earlier this year Camping World launched a new mobile site to allow easier browsing from mobile devices including smart phones, iPads and tablets. The mobile site offers an optimised site for faster browsing and less data transfer, making it even easier to access Camping World when on the move. Mobile users automatically default to open this site with their device but they are of course still able to access the main site if they wish.

Following these exciting developments, we have undertaken a re-design programme on our main site to make navigation easier and to harmonise the look across the sites with a cleaner, crisper style. Our main aim in this process is to provide a 'refresh' to the appearance of the site, keeping the excellent interface qualities whilst updating some of the tired imagery to give a nicer overall shopping experience for the consumer.

Much of the site update will allow us to better showcase the fantastic new products on the site and enable us to continue providing one of the easiest, best-looking retail websites online today.

If you have arrived via the main homepage, you will see that we have changed from a fluid website base to 'fixed width', allowing better browsing from a variety of devices as well as adding a contemporary feel to the site. Behind the fixed width platform we have added a high resolution image that will change according to season and various promotions at any given time. This image also helps consumers to identify and differentiate between the two main areas of the site easily, with clear inuitive imagery dividing the site between Camping and Ski sections.

We have also added two new banners to provide easier site navigation; using a Flash banner we can now switch between the two main areas of the site easily. We feel that this is an important development for the majority of our users despite a small proportion of mobile devices not being able to use this feature. Similarly, as we grow and sell more and more products navigation on the site is becoming harder for the consumers so we have also added a linked brand banner allowing users to easily find an individual brands' products on the site.

A key feature to the re-design is re-situating our site search bar front and centre. In keeping with search engines and other sites, the search tool is now in its expected position having been lifted from within the main colour bar, and means consumers will not have to search the site just to find the search tool itself.

You will also notice that we have updated the colours around the site in keeping with each page's theme, and followed this colour through the pages providing a smooth and co-ordinated browsing experience.

As you browse further you will see bigger, better resolution product images, updated information pages and greater video content throughout the site. On the product pages we have introduced tabbed browsing, bringing the information up the screen and allowing consumers to easily toggle between product specifications, reviews and questions.
