Dr. Cohen understands the importance of patient education, to improve clinical care and patient satisfaction. Surveys have shown that U.S. adults frequently search online for patient handouts, but are frustrated by the large volume of health information they find from questionable sources. A majority of health consumers state that they would prefer to get that information directly from their own doctor. Unfortunately, a majority of physicians report finding it difficult to provide education during an office visit and most medical practice websites lack health information. Dr. Cohen was born and raised in Akron Ohio. He attended the University of Akron as an undergraduate, graduating with honors, and went to Medical School at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. After graduation, he moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin for his internship and residency in Internal Medicine and became Board Certified in Internal Medicine in 1978. He then finished a two-year fellowship in Allergy and Immunology, becoming Board Certified in this specialty in 1979.

Dr. Cohen is an author of 22 publications in medical and scientific journals.

Dr. Cohen was on the faculty of the Medical College of Wisconsin for seven years before entering private practice in 1984 and continues to be a member of the Clinical Faculty of the Medical College.
