AE Techron Introduces "Next Generation" Precision Gradient Amplifiers

Nov. 30, 2011 - PRLog -- AE Techron announces the next generation in precision gradient amplifier solutions for small-bore MRI and NMR applications. The new AE Techron 8200 Series uses a robust, low-distortion, highly efficient PWM design that features lower noise and faster settling times than other switching amplifier designs, and offers significant savings in size, weight and cost.

The 8200 Series is available in two configurations: the 8210 (http://www.aetechron.com/8210_ov.shtml) with a single 160V/100A channel or the 8205 (http://www.aetechron.com/8205_ov.shtml) with two 160V/50A channels. The 8200 Series offers a 100 microsecond settling time, much faster than the settling times of other gradient amplifiers in this power range. It features a patented PWM design that provides an effective switching frequency of 500 kHz and a ripple noise output of just 30 mV RMS (plus to minus). An advanced output filter system completes the 8200 Series design and results in the lowest DC to 100 kHz noise floor available.

The 8200 Series also makes significant advances in reducing installation and operation costs. Less rack space is required because the 8200 Series combines a high-efficiency gradient amplifier and integrated power supply together in a single sturdy, 2U, rack-mountable chassis. The 8200 Series does not require a controlled environment, weighs just 33 lbs. and needs only 120VAC/20A or 230VAC/10A single-phase power for operation, so room preparation and electrical costs are also reduced.
