Nov. 11, 2011 - PRLog -- The launch of its Seed to Table project earlier this year, funded by the Local Food & Big Lottery fund, has enabled the development of its courtyard gardens to produce a selection of seasonal vegetables and herbs.

The Bridge Project's café supports accredited learning and working skills to disadvantaged adults in a 'live' working environment. This season, for the first time, students at The Bridge Project have been growing their own fruit and vegetables at their on site allotment, enabling them to prepare an entire meal made purely from what they've grown.

Jackie Skillicorn, External Funding Manager at The Bridge Project, says 'The students have enjoyed working in the garden and harvesting the produce they have grown. It's been great that we have been able to produce a a wholesome meal produced from all their hardwork.'

'We've always championed the use of seasonal ingredients and think it's terrific we're now able to use food that's travelled a matter of metres from the veg patch to the table!'

Visit The Bridge Project café and enjoy a healthy, environmentally friendly, and simply tasty meal. For more information visit the café on Gainsborough Street, Sudbury, Suffolk, call 01787 313691, or visit www.thebridgeproject.co.uk.
