Australia’s Hottest Domain Name Auction Is Now On

Nov. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- The Australian internet domain name market further heats up as internet entrepreneurs Roland B. Bleyer and Steve Baxt host Australia’s largest premium domain name auction.
From now until the 30th of November, Bleyer’s company Pixel Capital in partnership with Mr. Baxt, will be auctioning what they believe is a record number of premium and valuable Australian internet domains, previously unavailable to the general public.

The domain names up for auction are valued assets held by private traders, and include common one word domain names such as shampoo.com.au, grape.com.au and scooters.com.au, as well as two letter domain names such as v8.com.au, ok.com.au and gm.com.au, all of which offer significant branding and marketing opportunities.

“Domain names may seem expensive on their own, but when you consider them as an invaluable portion of the whole marketing and branding budget, they are more than worth their price” says Roland B. Bleyer, who earlier this year made a dash into the US Market with the purchase of CreditCard.net for $138,000 USD, and who owns many of the premium domains now available for auction.

The Australian domain name market has grown by leaps and bounds in recent years, and made national headlines this year with the record breaking public purchase of an expired domain, InvestmentProperty.com.au for $125,000 AUD. “However, this is only the tip of the iceberg, as a larger portion of domain sales happen entirely privately. I myself purchased creditcard.com.au for $160,000 AUD in 2009 but this was never made public until now. This is only the start of a range of premium Australian domain auctions. We already have secured some amazing domains for January” said Mr Bleyer.

.au domains are not merely restricted to Australians. The easiest and quickest way for foreigners to become eligible is to apply for an Australian Trade Mark. Alternatively anybody who is licensed to trade in Australia (and holds an ABN) can purchase Australian domain names.
