Charles Bentley Associates Launch Personal Development Workshops for Living in an Imperfect World

Nov. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- Charles Bentley Associates Ltd is launching a series of innovative one-day personal development workshops in central London entitled "Facing the challenge of change - personal navigation in an imperfect world". Now is a time of great uncertainty and upheaval, with many people having to make significant life, career and family decisions. The credit crunch and likelihood of a long period of economic difficulty is currently acting as a catalyst for perceptive individuals to question the values of an overly materialistic, status-obsessed, goal-orientated culture.

More and more, instead of fulfilling their own, unique function in the world, people have become trapped into a personal scenario in which they need to work toward the attainment of self-contradictory goals and by doing so fly in the face of their own true nature. By aiming to realise some fantasised future in which the improbable - if not impossible! - will at last happen, they find themselves out on a limb; out of touch with reality and incapable of living fully in the present.

Programme director Charles Bentley PhD says,  "What the workshops deal with, particularly, is your perception of what goes on, rather than what actually goes on - because it's your personal slant of what's happening that causes the problem, rather than the actual happening itself."

These personal development workshops are a great opportunity for progressive people to explore their current life issues and potential for future growth. The workshops are not based on any pre-conceived theory or set of techniques, but instead provide a comprehensive framework that's designed to support participants through a process of self-understanding and potential fulfillment.

The workshops are personally directed by Charles and his associates Andy Turnbull and Anne Katrin Schlag, who have been working with Charles for a number of years, creating a strong team of highly experienced facilitators. The workshops take place at approximately monthly intervals at the new Pimlico Academy in Westminster, central London. Each one is limited to a maximum of 15 participants.

Charles Bentley PhD founded Charles Bentley Associates Ltd to facilitate individuals to take responsibility for their own personal development. His Unitive™ approach has been developed in its present form from his original work back in the 1970's as a faculty member at the Institute of Unitive Psychology in Utrecht, the Netherlands, working with the Institute's director, the pioneering psychologist Dr. Jay Stattman.

Anne Katrin Schlag PhD gained her doctorate in psychology at the London School of Economics. She currently lectures at King's College London and has worked with Charles since 2005 as an associate group facilitator and one-to-one coach.

Andy Turnbull has a background in finance and has held senior management positions in national and international NGOs. Andy is a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management, is an experienced group facilitator and has a private coaching practice.
