Follow on Google News | Calling Bristolians ready to rise to the challengeBristol charity St Peter’s Hospice is urging local people looking for the high life to sign up for its latest fundraising event.
By: Kayleigh Sydenham The event, taking place on 20 November, will raise money for the Brentry-based charity which cares for local adults with incurable illnesses. Services at St Peter’s Hospice are provided free of charge but the NHS contribute just 23% of the £6 million needed to run the hospice yearly, meaning events like the Abseil Challenge are essential. Last year the hospice cared for 2,000 patients in the region and supported over 6,000 family members including children. Event fundraiser for St Peter’s Hospice Maria del Carmen Moon Park said: “This is the first time we have held an Abseil Challenge and we’re really excited to be able to offer such a fun activity while raising vital funds. “The building is 185ft high so quite a challenge but the team will be there to encourage people and it’s going to be a great day! “The money raised is vital for the community so please consider signing up to help. If Abseiling is not your thing, you could sponsor someone taking part or take a look at our website for more fundraising ideas.” If you would like to take part in the Abseil Challenge it costs just £15 and there is a minimum sponsorship of £150. The event will take place from 11am until 7pm. If you are interested in getting involved please contact Maria on 0117 915 9328 or at maria.moonpark@ End
