Rugged Stainless Steel Conductivity Sensors Maximize Boiler Efficiency

Ideal for Boilers in Industrial Process Plants & Electric Power Generation Systems Rugged CS675 and CS676 Stainless Steel Conductivity Sensors are ideal for reliable monitoring of boiler water impurities and reducing blow down maintenance costs.

Nov. 9, 2011 - PRLog -- Garden Grove, CA--The rugged CS675 and CS676 Stainless Steel Conductivity Sensors from Sensorex are ideal for highly accurate, reliable monitoring of impurities in boiler water, reducing blow down maintenance cycles and lowering boiler operating, repair and energy costs.

As boilers operate, pure water leaves the water in the form of steam and dissolved solids accumulate in the remaining water. If left unwatched and unregulated, these dissolved solids can cause boiler corrosion and contamination and lead to inaccurate boiler operation.

Boiler blow down maintenance is a process that helps prevent solids from building up by removing contaminated water and replacing it with fresh water. Careful monitoring of boiler water quality is necessary to ensure that blow downs are performed at the proper intervals, maintaining boiler accuracy while conserving water and energy. The amount of dissolved solids in boiler water can be determined by measuring the ability of the water to conduct electricity.

The heavy-duty Sensorex CS675 and CS676 Conductivity Sensors feature bodies and pins constructed of 316 stainless steel and are built to withstand rugged operating conditions up to 200°C and 250 psig. The sensors feature a special, thermally resistant PEEK insert and high-temperature ethylene propylene “O” rings. Models may be ordered with or without automatic temperature compensation depending upon application requirements.

Sensorex’s CS675 and CS676 boiler conductivity sensors use ¾-inch male NPT threads. The CS675 sensor family can be used in ¾” FNPT tees or crosses while the longer CS676 sensors are designed for use in 1” FNPT tees and crosses with use of a ¾” reducer to complete the installation. All boiler probes are supplied with 6-inch Teflon coated leads for Junction Box connection and extension and offer a standard cell K value of 1.0, with special K values of 0.1 and 10.0 also available. Longer cable lengths can be specified at additional cost.
