“We hope that with our Adopt-a-Paw Calgary program, we can help spread some of that holiday cheer to those dogs and cats that are still waiting for their forever homes,” says Amanda Barker, Owner of Edamame Kids.
ARF is a volunteer-based organization and is a registered non-profit charity. ARF rescues dogs and cats from First Nations and rural areas and places them into temporary foster homes where they are vaccinated, de-wormed and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. ARF also provides spay/neuter and educational programs to residents of First Nations communities as part of the effort to reduce the population of unwanted animals.
"The winter months in Alberta are especially trying for stray and abandoned animals. ARF is always at-capacity, and the holiday season is the hardest. Any help, whether it be in-kind or monetary donations, or the gift of time – by offering your home as a volunteer foster home, is greatly appreciated,"
From November 15, 2011 to December 3, 2011, you can drop off donations under the Christmas tree at Edamame Kids in Calgary.
ARF would greatly appreciate any of the following items:
- X-Pens/Puppy Pens
- Unopened Bags of Techni-Cal or Iams (Dry) Kitten or Cat Food
