Great BMW and Mini Models of 2012, and a Few Hints About Auto Services

The upcoming 2012 BMW X6 is a SUV equipped for four passengers SUV.  This BMW X6 xDrive35i features a powerful turbocharged 3.0 L inline 6 engine that is capable of creating 300 horsepower and 300 foot pounds of torque. On the 2012 BMW X6, standard safety features include ABS (antilock disc brakes with stability control, traction control and hill descent control) and DPC (advanced Dynamic Performance Control).  BMW's advanced Dynamic Performance Control (DPC) greatly enhances the directional stability and traction by redirecting power to each wheel. The airbag system includes standard airbags, front seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and active front head restraints. From an auto mechanic’s or enthusiast’s point of view, you have to appreciate the amount power these X6 SUV’s are coming out with.  

The 2012 xDrive50i comes with a twin turbocharged 4.4 L V8 engine. This amazing BMW produces 400 horsepower and 450 foot pounds of torque. The 2012 xDrive35i has a 3.0 L turbocharged inline 6 that produces 300 hp and 300 foot pounds of torque. Both the xDrive50i and the xDrive35i BMW X5 models also come standard with all-wheel drive and have the eight-speed automatic transmission as well.  Safety features on these BMW models includes ABS (antilock brakes and stability control), brake drying, a rollover sensor, and BMW Assist emergency telematics.  The airbag systems also have above and beyond standard airbags, active front head restraints, front side airbags and side curtain airbags. These bad boys almost should be out on the car race track running auto races!

The 2012 Mini Copper basic models come with a 1.6 L 4 cylinder engine that produces 121-hp and 114 foot pounds of torque. The 2012 Mini Cooper S models 1.6 L turbocharged 4 cylinder engine creates a whopping 181 hp and 177 foot pounds of torque or 192 with an over-boost. Now the top Mini model the 2012 John Cooper Works has the most Mini power at 208 hp and 192 foot pounds of torque or 207 in over-boost.  You also get a choice of standard or automatic 6 speed transmissions, whichever you prefer.  Cool features of the Mini available are an automatic spoiler system, satellite radio, and 17 inch rims.  Safety features available for the Mini include ABS, Stability Control, Airbags, JCW Suspension and JCW Brakes.  Mini cars are in a class of their own. Many Mini owners and Mini mechanics can understand the beauty of these cars as compared to other small cars alike especially the maxed out John Cooper Works models.

You must admire these new BMW and Mini models with their performance, power, torque, features and safety features.  After buying a BMW or Mini, maintenance is the key for success when it comes to keeping these cars on the road for a long time.  These cars are able to help you by reminding you of the services needed, or if there is a problem with the engine, transmission, airbags, or brakes, these cars have great warning systems to direct you to your local mechanic shop for automotive diagnostics, service or repairs needed.  Just make sure the auto repair shop that you take these cars to have auto mechanics that know these European cars inside and out.  You can’t take chances with auto repair mistakes or even bad body work after an auto collision.  So if this is you buying these great new BMW or Mini models, find a reputable auto repair shop and auto body shop. This way, when you do need a mechanic, you already have one.
