Friedman, 55, an avid bowler for 30 years in Michigan and Florida and a 10-time team league champion, seeks to increase the interest of the sport of bowling in children 5 to 9 years old and promote family fun and support. The storyline of the book follows the main character Bobby the Bowler. As Bobby grows up he enjoys knocking down soda cans with his ball. He learns about the sport of bowling from his parents and, as a family outing, they go bowling at the Town Bowling Center, where Bobby meets boys and girls his age having fun. Bobby bowls most weekends he teams up with four friends and they form a team, the Fearless Five, enter a children’s bowling league and end up in the championship bowling for the prize trophy. It’s a story of positive family support, building close friendships, learning decision making and good sportsmanship. “It’s adorable and fun!” says Lisa Ciniello, owner of Bowland, Inc. that includes six bowling centers in Southwest Florida from Port Charlotte to Naples.
