PRLog - Nov. 9, 2011 - Redan, GA (USA), Wednesday - November 09, 2011 -- The old adage says "an apple a day keeps the doctor away." The Benson Mills Group (BMG) ( http://www.BensonMillsGroup.com ), a food safety firm which provides food safety training, consulting and commercial cleaning throughout Metro Atlanta, asserts that frequent hand-washing every day can keep the doctor away!
With cold and flu season upon us, BMG is ramping up its efforts to encourage frequent hand-washing with soap and water. In the food safety arena, hand-washing is one of the most essential and cost effective weapons against spreading foodborne illnesses. The same is true for preventing the spread of germs and bacteria that cause illnesses such as colds and the flu.
To get the word out about the importance of hand-washing with soap and water, BMG is taking its expertise and training to one of our most valuable resources - our children. Through a community outreach partnership with Georgia Headstart’s McIntosh Trail, BMG will be teaching 115 three to five year-olds the importance of hand-washing and demonstrating proper hand-washing techniques. The young participants will be encouraged to not only make frequent hand-washing with soap a habit, but to urge their parents, guardians, siblings and friends to do the same. Let’s all make frequent hand-washing with soap and water a part of our daily routines. Let’s do it for our health. Let’s do it for our lives.
