Nov. 9, 2011 - PRLog -- TAALK announces free international registration to their bi-annual TAALK-a-Thon to be held on November 19th and 20th. During this 24-hour internet radio show, participants will have the opportunity to learn from 40+ experts, how to predict and prevent child sexual abuse. Register at http://www.taalk.org/TAALK-A-THON2.

“Child sexual abuse is predictable and preventable when we surround children with knowledgeable and outspoken adults and we all play a part in the solution,” says Diane Cranley, TAALK President and host of the TAALK-a-Thon. Cranley adds, “There are experts all over the world working hard to resolve this epidemic but their extensive knowledge seldom makes it into the homes of those who can benefit from it. The TAALK-a-Thon is a chance to have this wealth of knowledge delivered directly to their home via the internet – it’s fast, it’s free, and it could save a child’s life.”

The TAALK-a-Thon agenda includes the following interviews:
•   Together We Can Prevent Child Sexual Abuse - A discussion of tools for adults concerned about their own thoughts or inappropriate behaviors toward kids or the behavior of others with Deborah Donovan Rice, MMT, and Executive Director of Stop It Now!;
•   Why People Perpetrate and Can They Be Helped? with Fred Berlin, M.D., Ph.D., and Founder of The Johns Hopkins Sexual Disorders Clinic;
•   The Shock, The Journey and the Resounding Hope for Non-Offending Parents with author and private practitioner, Karen Fennel, MSW, LISW-CP and Angele Morgan, author and LCSW;
•   Empowering Children to Use Their Voice with Erin Merryn - author, speaker and the force behind Erin’s Law in Illinois as well as Jill Starishevsky, Assistant District Attorney in New York City and author of My Body Belongs to Me;
•   Key Elements to a Safer Community – Exploring a Successful Sex Offender Risk Management Model with representatives from the Minnesota Department of Corrections including Mark Bliven, Community Notification Supervisor and Bill Donnay, Director of Risk Assessment/Community Notification Unit;
•   As well as 22 other thought provoking and informative topics.

The TAALK-a-Thon will start on November 19th at 8:00 a.m. (pdt).  Complete event details and free international registration for the TAALK-a-Thon are available on the TAALK web site, at http://www.taalk.org/TAALK-A-THON2.
