During her incarceration, Karin lived in fear for her life, lived in fear that she would not see her husband again and that her children would grow up without her. She found strength in talking with the other women about their children and their hopes for them. She consciously worked at believing that she would be going home, even on days when the sadness was all consuming. She never lost faith and believed in the possibilities of what she could create for herself. Now that her nightmare is over and she and her family are healing from the horrible ordeal, Karin and husband Sergio, have founded “Inspiring Your Very Best” (www.inspiringyourverybest.com)
The focal point of “Inspiring Your Very Best,” is a loveable character named Joy. During her time in jail, Karin began a deep spiritual journey that helped her to survive. She immersed herself in all kinds of spiritual readings and started meditating. “It was during these meditations that the Joy stories came to me,” said Karin. “I saw this little girl in my mind. Images would come to me and then the words would come and I would start writing, frantically, as if it was being downloaded into my consciousness. I began writing and drawing these stories for my daughters. It gave me great pleasure, and I spent hours on each little story and would send them home to the girls. This was another means of communication with my daughters, another way of staying connected to them, even though I was 5,500 miles away,” she added.
Joy, and what has become the Joy Movement, says Karin, does not focus on the negative. Joy teaches how to use spiritual tools, instill deep values, life skills and the power of positive energy. To date, there are 24 Joy titles available as eBooks or through Kindle, including Spanish titles as well. Written for children six years old and older, Karin says parents should read the books with their children, to open a conversation, “It is my biggest dream and pleasure to share these Joy books with the world. Joy is here to help us learn that love is the strongest power in the world and how we can change our lives when we understand how the Universe really works.”
