Her two-year discovery project resulted in the first book spotlighting entrepreneurship and innovation from within the Latino business community. It was written for anyone seeking to make wise choices about future career paths as our American economy undergoes massive transformation. “Graciela highlights incredible success stories of Latino leaders not only participating in but creating business opportunities in the green economy. As Hispanic-owned businesses play an increasingly important role driving economic recovery, Latinnovating shows how this community is also making a difference towards a better planet. Given the international connections that Hispanic businesses have, they are the latent force that can transform how business is done in the Americas to improve the quality of the environment on a large scale. This book is a must-read for any business wanting to take advantage of green opportunities and for those looking for green entry points,” said Magda Cardenas, Director of Marketing and Communications, Greater Washington D.C. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
“I am proud to be featured in Graciela’s book, her dedication to all of us, to tell our stories, to make us stars in our communities and tell the world about our projects…her dedication to her mission of telling the world we need to wake up to the needs of this community are amazing,” said Robert Zardeneta, Executive Director of the youth social justice organization LACAUSA and recent speaker at the Green Festival in Los Angeles.
Graciela grew up in a household that practiced creative reuse with everything. She credits her mother and father’s examples for her desire to create her own company, projects and books, following her military and corporate careers. She most recently spoke at the Puente Program regional conference at U.C. Santa Cruz and will speak at San Francisco’s Mission High School a few days before the Green Festival speech. She was also recently featured at a recent hybrid vehicle launch in Los Angeles, as the automobile company launched the vehicle into the U.S. Latino market.
”I am proud to be speaking at the San Francisco Green Festival, shining the bright spotlight on the Latino environmental entrepreneurs and innovators that are creating better products, solutions, programs for all Americans. America needs to see these positive images of Latinos; Latino youth need to see these role models. It’s time brilliant Latinos stop being invisible!”
Latinnovating will be available at the Green Festival book store during the festival, and always at Amazon.com and Latinnovating.com.
