Ashworth to support communities with their new partner Barnardo's

Nov. 7, 2011 - PRLog -- Ashworth has entered a new two-year 'together' charity partnership with Barnardo's, the charity which supports over 100,000 children, young people and their families every year.

Barnardo's helps support children dealing with homelessness, disabilities, abuse, alcohol or drugs. With over 400 projects in local communities throughout the UK, Barnardo's staff protect thousands of disadvantaged children and their families every year facilitating and supporting everything from fostering and adoption to schooling and counselling. In addition, using its knowledge gained from direct work with children, Barnardo's campaigns for better policies for children, young people and families.

Ashworth will encourage staff, their families, customers and suppliers to organise and participate in a range of activities across the next two years to support Barnardo's through fundraising and volunteering.

Xxx from Ashworth said: "We're proud to be lending our support to such a valuable charity and we're looking forward to setting ourselves some challenges - and having some fun - to raise money for such a worthy cause."

The ‘together’ charity programme also involves Ashworth's sister building distribution companies and since its launch in 2002 this programme has raised almost £2 million for worthy causes including Help the Hospices, the British Heart Foundation, Great Ormond Street and Cancer Research UK.
