Permiss, who is well known around the DMV as an industry insider and respected member of the media and artistic community, has a long and growing résumé of work is honored to be a part of such a historic event such as the Crown. Permiss is currently host of two regional radio shows, Politic With Permiss on WOLB 1010 AM (Radio One) and The Grind Hard Experience on internet station DaBeat1650AM.com. Permiss gained his experience in hosting with Power Moves TV in New York, NY and even spent time as host of the Top Mics MC Competition franchise and continued his experience with hosting Mic Fest one of the largest MC showcase and competitions in the area. He is also known as a cypher host having hosted several of the hottest MC cyphers in the area. As a radio personality, Permiss has hosted and done numerous red carpet events all over the Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia area including Baltimore Fashion Week and the DMV Awards. He has interviewed the likes of Hollywood Stars such as Boris Kodjoe, Nicole Ari Parker, Raekwon, Mobb Deep, Tyga (Young Money), songstress and reality star Olivia (Love & Hip Hop/VH1) , Fred Tha Godson and Senator Catherine Pugh of Maryland to name a few.
Permiss is thrilled to host the Baltimore Crown Underground Awards and humbled by the nominations he has received. Permiss along with co-host Singleton Newman won the 2010 Baltimore Crown Underground Award for Best Baltimore Media for their radio show, Politic With Permiss. This year, Politic With Permiss is nominated again for Best Baltimore Media and Permiss will also be honored with the Special Appreciation Award for being a strong advocate of the Baltimore Scene. In addition to his accolades from the Crown, Permiss has also been recognized as one of the Power Players according to DMVLife.com, and has been awarded recognition citations for outstanding leadership and citizenship with the National Action Network and the Baltimore City Council with his work on iVote Maryland, which he focuses on working with a team of other young members of the Baltimore, MD community to shed a light on voting and voting education for young people.
The 2011 5th Annual Baltimore Crown Underground Awards is guaranteed to be a memorable event. Hosted by Permiss, the show will feature performances by rapper DDM, The Sankofa Dance Theater, Jinx (Dream Big Recordings) and the Dramatic Dance Group.
