Anco Products Partners with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management

Nov. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Anco Compliance Manager, Leah Thwing, accepted the Partners for Pollution Prevention induction certificate which was presented by Rick Bossingham, Assistant Commissioner, IDEM (Indiana Department of Environmental Management) Office of Compliance Support, and Ron Allen, Executive Director, Partners for Pollution Prevention.

Anco was required to provide up-to-date environmental, health and safety records, and record of full IDEM compliance in order to join the 62 plus partnering Indiana industries and businesses. The Partners for Pollution Prevention organization provides a forum where this growing number of Indiana businesses can exchange ideas about pollution prevention (P2) and discuss how P2 fits into current and future IDEM programs.

According to Thwing, “The primary motivation for Anco to join the Partners was to enhance our networking and collaboration with other likeminded Indiana businesses".

Anco has been in the practice of making its products from reclaimed raw materials since 1979. However, it was in 2007 that Anco began to focus even more on sustainability and environmentally related topics such as waste reduction, energy usage and materials sourcing.

“With P2 being a topic in which environment and economics meet on a common ground, the Partners will be a great resource for Anco to draw from as we continue to set new goals using annual sustainability planning”, said Thwing.
