Follow on Google News | Hospitality Training Boosts Business DowntownDowntown hospitality training program engages, energizes and enhances community pride in Lansing, MI.
By: Sharon F. Benigson, DowntownDevelopment.com With stiff competition for every consumer dollar, providing hospitality training for downtown businesses makes great financial sense. Recently, the Greater Lansing CVB launched a Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) Program so that front-line employees in Lansing, MI, could enhance the visitor experience via their improved knowledge of what the area has to offer. In order to quantify hospitality training results, a baseline survey was taken. The results indicated that 83 percent of visitors ask for recommendations or help from frontline hospitality staff during their stay, yet only 7.67 of 10 respondents felt that the information they received was helpful. The goal, during the two-year follow-up survey, will be to see that marker move upward.
