FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Nov. 2, 2011 - FIU's College of Arts and Sciences is once again preparing for its annual study abroad trip to Prague, Czech Republic. The trip runs June 25th through July 26th 2012 and is open to all University students.

hey will receive instruction in subjects ranging from history, literature, film studies, Jewish studies, to art history, women’s studies, politics, and architecture over the course of 4 weeks. While some of the material will be presented in the classroom, the philosophy of this program is to involve students in learning by fully experiencing the culture of this enthralling location. Thus, the most significant learning will take place in the form of field trips, walking tours, and visits to the most intriguing and significant places around the entire country. Students will have the opportunity to spend 5 days at the world famous Karlovy Vary Film Festival, tour the infamous Terezín (Theresienstadt) Concentration Camp, learn to blow glass at an important art glass factory in Nový Bor, spend days exploring medieval towns and hike through the Sudetenland (Hitler’s excuse to begin invading surrounding countries).
