IDEA Camp is looking for medical device ventures to participate- the application deadline is Nov. 11, 2011.

Medical devices are such an important part of the local innovation scene that we expect a great response,” says Tonya Elmore, president of Tampa Bay Innovation Center. “We believe the medical device IDEA Camp has the potential to have a real impact on participants and the local community.” The Innovation Center’s IDEA Camp is a high-energy, interactive event with collaborative workshops and presentations. It is designed to help inventors, entrepreneurs and small business owners refine their “elevator pitch” and communicate their venture’s competitive attributes. Participants should achieve the follow outcomes: • A refined business model • Credibility for their product or idea through peer vetting • Confidence to deliver an effective value proposition • Better defined concepts to share with mentors and investors • New and/or improved ideas based on real-time feedback • Momentum to move forward with a “next step” plan • A refined 60-second pitch for various audiences • New contacts and resources to help move their idea forward Only 15 medical device technology concepts will be accepted for Tampa Bay Innovation Center’s IDEA Camp. Although there is no cost to apply, the fee for accepted participants is $99, which includes the pre-conference workshop, full day workshop and meals.
