New Halifax Food and Wine Festival to launch with Grammy Winning Jazz Icon Nestor Torres

Nov. 2, 2011 - PRLog -- Holly Hill, presented by Floridian View Magazine, the new Halifax Food and Wine Festival will premiere on Saturday, November 12, 2011 from 3pm-10pm at the newly restored historic Market in Holly Hill.

Featuring the best restaurants of the Halifax Area, the Halifax Food and Wine Festival will have 25 participating eateries, all hand picked for their high level of culinary excellence. Partners Southern Wine and Spirits have amassed a collection of 30 wineries and Daytona Beverages is participating with 30 breweries from across the country.

The night will culminate with a performance by Grammy winner and Latin jazz icon Nestor Torres. The Puerto Rican flautist has performed across the world at some of the most prestigious festivals and his recording have topped the jazz charts consistently.

Tickets are general admission and are available for $10 and include the concert. Patrons will have the opportunity to purchase Festival Dollars and enjoy the event "A La Carte", selecting which restaurants and beverages they would like to sample.

THE VENUE | The Second Street Public Market

Originally built in 1919 as a part of the WPA program, the venue has been everything from a market to a court house. After a year of renovations by the City of Holly Hill, the Market reopens as a community venue which will also house the weekly Second Street Public Market.  A new, upscale market that will occur every Friday from 4pm-9pm.
