Didn’t you just love when you received your school locker at the start of the school year. They would be sparkling clean, either new or properly cleaned during the summer. You would promise yourself that you would keep it spotless; it never really worked out that way though! How long did it take you to gather up a load of junk in your gym locker?

Lockers in Ireland (http://www.office1web.ie/)become the resting place for rotten food, smelly sports gear, rancid runners and dog eared copy books. As yes, we have all been there! It won’t be long before you get the smell of a rotten ham sandwich oozing out of your neighbours school locker!

Girls and guys tend to have very different attitudes when tending to their storage lockers. The girls will treat their school locker with pride, they will post pretty pictures on the inside of the door, they will have a section for their books neatly filed and a section for their lunch and sports gear. The guys will tend to throw everything but the kitchen sink into their lockers. There will be little or no organisation and you would much more likely to find the rotting sandwich in the boys school storage lockers.

So what unusual things are you likely to find in school lockers? Did you know that in the USA, at least 100,000 students bring guns to school every day! This is obviously not a problem in Ireland, but kids can store contraband in their school lockers. In fact, one method of fighting substance abuse in schools has been the random inspection of lockers.  Others will bring a pet to school and hide it in their school locker.

But rest easy, most kids will use the locker for exactly what it is intended for. There may be a smell coming from it before long, but it’s most likely just a gone off apple of cheese sandwich! If you here a tweet tweet or a hiss from school lockers than you may have a problem!
