iPhone and Droid Apps Driving Traffic to ShaleDirectories.com

Nov. 1, 2011 - PRLog -- Ever since the launch of the iPhone, people have been using their cell phones with greater frequency to access the Internet.  This is especially true in the case of ShaleDirectories.com which made free apps for the iPhone and Droid smart phones available in mid-September.  Gas workers have taken advantage of these free apps and are now using them to find local businesses as they travel throughout the Marcellus and Utica Shale regions.  These apps provide gas workers the names, phones numbers, company information and driving directions to the local businesses that they find with an app.

The demand for immediate access to information about resources from local companies is critical to natural gas operators.  As more free ShaleDirectories.com apps for iPhone and Droid smart phones are downloaded, traffic from smart phones will continue to growth.
In evaluating the traffic by mobile platform, Apple is clearly the leader.  The iPhone represents 38% of the traffic and iPad 32%.  Google’s Droid is 18% followed by the Blackberry with 12%.  
ShaleDirectories.com has a database of 160,000 businesses in the Marcellus and Utica Shale region.  Businesses will be segmented by state, by county, and by business category.  “With a few clicks, it will be easy for natural gas operators to find businesses in any county where natural gas drilling is occurring,” observed Barone.
