Regan Career Institute launches new Holter Monitor Training Course

Nov. 1, 2011 - PRLog -- Regan Career Institute is launching a new Holter Monitor advanced training course in collaboration with its Electrocardiograph Technician program.
In addition to its popular EKG program, students will be trained on the latest holter monitor training equipment.Holter monitors are portable devices worn by patients. The device records data and analyze its inputs. EKG technicians can then further study the results and forward them to the physician to assist them in diagnosing heart ailments, such as heart rhythm abnormalities or problems with pacemakers.
RCI’s nationally approved accelerated EKG course trains individuals to perform electrocardiogram tests including basic 12- lead EKG’s and basic arrhythmias. The hands-on training introduces the student to the function and proper use of the EKG machine, 12 lead placement and interpretation. It also equips and prepares students to take national certifying exams including the National Center for Competency Testing and National Healthcareer Association/Multiskilled Medical Certifications Institute.
On average, cardiovascular technicians make more than $48,000 a year, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Currently, EKG technicians can work at hospitals, physicians’ offices, clinics, and other health care facilities.  Cardiovascular technologists and technicians assist physicians in diagnosing and treating heart and blood vessel ailments.

Established in 2004, RCI together with local hospitals, labs and clinics have trained and educated hundreds of students towards new careers in the medical field. Among other programs, the institute also provides a state approved accelerated Phlebotomy course. Classes are conveniently held on weekends for those who are in other programs or those seeking other careers.
