Congolese Singer and American Songwriter Gain Grammy Winner's Support And Launch Music Video, Kiando

Grammy-Winning Producer of Macy Gray Fame, Darryl Swann Puts Faith in Inventive, Cross-Continental American-African Songwriting and Philanthropic Collaborators, Re-recording their song, Kiando into a Worldbeat Dance Track.

Oct. 31, 2011 - PRLog -- Songwriters, Jose Hendrix and Kelly Myers have a unique artistic bond stretching around the world from Kansas City, Missouri where Myers lives and works, to Hendrix who lives in Kinsahsa, the Capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in Central Africa. The music collaboration project was born through a collaboration that began on Facebook. The two met on Facebook just over one year ago after Myers' mother died and now have written and produced  20 songs together. All 15 tracks from their American debut CD, Jose Hendrix - Embrace the Earth were voted to Broadjam's Latin-Rock Top 10 Chart. The songwriting process begins in the United States, initiated in Kansas City by Kelly Myers through the creation of lyrics and a melody line. The outline of the song is then sent across the Internet to DRC where Jose Hendrix and his team of Congolese musicians go into a studio and complete the work of art.  Hendrix produces the music.

The songwriting duo has gained the attention of Grammy-award winning Darryl Swann who is putting the final touches on a new worldbeat version of thier song, Kiando.  Hendrix and Myers recently met Swann in Los Angeles to re-record 'Kiando Worldbeat' at Clear Lake Audio. Kiando was written by Kelly Myers for Jose Hendrix, who coins his own individual style of dance and song, Kiando. Jose produced the original song (in the video) in Congo. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxblJ_7iFnQ

Swann co-wrote and produced Gray's smash hit, I Try. Swann said he wants Kiando to be a "a unique international pop-dance song". Swann says Hendrix has the air of an international Micheal Jackson. Swann also appreciates that Myers and Hendrix' project shines light on a hotbed of artistic talent in Kinshasa the world has never before heard. "Myers put strong belief in Congolese musicians", Swann adds.. "Myers had a feeling the world would love the high energy music made in Congo with Jose Hendrix and Congo's danceable Rumba-Latin music laid on top of her American born pop tunes".

There is a philanthropic component to the project called KC2Congo. Myers and Hendrix work with schools and orphanages and are building a Community Music Recording Studio in Kinshasa, "just to offer hope to kids", Kelly Myers said. One World Running recently donated 200 pair of running shoes to a school involved in the project.  They also have a grass roots plan that educates youth through original music videos airing on Congo tv, and are building a community recording studio to continue highlighting the talent of Kinshasa.
