Brunswick, GA – October 2011 – For all the fans, friends and followers of the talented actor/singer Danny Clay, 11/11/11 is a date they won’t want to miss. Clay Enterprise has announced that Mr. Clay will be performing a Luther Vandross tribute at the Ritz Theater in Danny’s hometown of Brunswick, Georgia which is sure to please his hometown fans.
The tribute begins at 7:30pm and bears two firsts for Mr. Clay. This is his first performance at the Ritz Theater and it is the first time he has performed in his hometown with a live band. Hometown family, friends, and fans are sure to enjoy seeing and hearing Danny sing again from the city where he started his entertainment journey.
Danny Clay was discovered during a chance encounter with Nephew Tommy who was a main character on the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Mr. Harvey offered Danny the opportunity of performing a series of Luther Vandross songs on the show’s “Radio Star” talent show and the audience response was so overwhelming that Steve Harvey invited him to perform the opening act for The Original Kings of Comedy of Steve Harvey’s “Tear Your Mouth Out” comedy tour.
Following his tour with Steve Harvey, Danny performed with such R&B elites as Musiq Soulchild, Ne-Yo, John Legend and Avant. Then, in December of 2009, film producer/director Tyler Perry invited Mr. Clay to perform as a cast-member of Perry’s stage play “Madea’s Big Happy Family”. Danny acted along side of Mr. Perry, who starred as “Madea”, Cassi Davis (N.A.A.C.P. Award-winning actress) and Palmer Williams, Jr. Besides acting in the play which toured nationally in most every major market, Danny Clay also was given the honor of performing the Luther Vandross classic song “If Only For One Night” as the finale of every stage-play.
Danny Clay has since embarked on fulfilling his dream of becoming a recording artist and has recorded and released “Foolish Pride” his first nationally distributed single on the CMG Music label. Danny counts his amazing career as a blessing from God at a second chance in life to become the man he was meant to be. Several early set-backs, including substance abuse and incarceration, woke Danny up and set him on his current path which he refuses to take for granted.
