Oct. 28, 2011 - PRLog -- Just about every golfer who has ever been fitted for a club, whether he knows it or not, was almost certainly in part fit using the process PING pioneered nearly 40 years ago. In recent years, with the birth of the fitting cart, and tools like Mizuno’s shaft optimizer, other OEMs have raised the stakes, and built upon PING’s foundation, but to this day, PINGs color code system remains the gold standard for length and lie fitting. Of course, it’s not like PING has been resting on their laurels since 1972 either. Their newish nFlight system, which among other things includes gapping analysis, is arguably the most sophisticated fitting tool in the industry today.

The Ping K15 Driver has an elongated head design that combines with an external weight pad to position the center of gravity for higher launching and longer carry drives. It is engineered with Straight Flight Technology (SFT) which promotes natural club head rotation by concentrating approximately 10% of the head mass towards the heel(Cheap golf clubs). A larger face increases forgiveness and ball velocity for greater distance and accuracy.

While it’s easy to get caught up in the fitting, that’s not the reason we’re here. This is, after all a review of the PING K15 Driver. Released in the fall of last year, the K15 rounds out PING’s “15 series”, which also includes the G15 and I15.Though it hardly seems possible, the K15 is engineered to be even more forgiving than the G15. According to PING, the all titanium K15 offers golfers a high trajectory ball flight with low to medium spin.

The K15 will help you drive the ball ‘exceptionally straight’ aided by a PING innovation called Straight Flight Technology (SF Tec). The large profile 460cc head and a club face that is longer heel to toe combine for consistent performance across the hitting surface. The overall design of the club positions the center of gravity low and back to generate high launch and low spin conditions.

The Ping K15 Driver is part of the latest expansion of PING's award-winning product line. PING has revealed its new Ping K15 Driver, part of its new range of clubs that also includes the K15 fairway woods, irons and hybrids. The Ping K15 Driver has a thinner outer edge and larger head making it easier to strike the ball in the clubs sweet zone. The weight saved by thinning the out edge is put into SF Techs external weight pad(Cheap golf irons). Now the center of gravity is low and to the back to allow for higher launch and low spin, it also helps square the face for razor like tee shots drive after drive.

Ping's own Ultra Thin Crown Technology has been utilised to redistribute 8 grams to the external weight pad and further enhance the position of the centre of gravity and moment of inertia. The Ping K15 driver features patent pending Straight Flight Technology that uses an extreme external weight pad to move 10% of the clubhead mass towards the heel. By repositioning the centre of gravity this provides a natural rotation through impact. The design of the Ping K15 driver means that the external sole weight pad is largely concealed.

Assisted by the Ping innovation of Straight Flight Technology (SF Tech), the Ping K15 places approximately 10% of the head mass into the heel of the club, helping to square the club face through the hitting zone for consistently straight tee shots. The K15 is also able to offer distance gains by combining a large-profile, 460cc head, and a club face that is longer heel to toe(Cheap Golf Drivers). The MOI is sizeable for consistent performance and forgiveness across the hitting surface. This design positions the center of gravity low and back to generate high launch and low spin.

If you’re the kind of golfer who fights a slice, frequently misses to the right, or simply can’t achieve any degree of consistency with your current driver, then absolutely, you should be looking at the PING K15. If however, you miss, left, or don’t miss much at all, then realistically, there is very little reason for you to look at the K15. Fortunately, the G15 and I15 are also part of PING’s current driver lineup. If the K15 doesn’t suite you, there’s a good chance one of those will.
