- Oct. 28, 2011 - AIX EN PROVENCE, France --
The new facility in France is expected to cater for a wide spectrum of testing requirements within the juvenile products industry, with testing services available so that manufacturers, retailers and importers can meet the quality standards required for trade within the EU. The new SGS laboratory will be able to test high chairs, beds, cradles, playpens and changing tables as per the standards set by EN 14988, EN 716, EN 1130, EN 12227, EN 12221, EN 71-2 & 3 – i.e. for mandatory standards that test for stability, mechanical and physical strength as well as testing small parts, flammability, chemicals, and associated label checking and so on.
SGS France achieved COFRAC accreditation (http://www.cofrac.fr/)
for toys and food contact materials a while back, enabling its testing services to cover articles such as baby bottles, soothers and other feeding equipment. SGS is proud of its record in the testing of toys, furniture, and other articles and materials given to contact with food, and is certain to provide a competitive advantage to its clients in the development of juvenile products for sale within the EU.
The EU is expected to see another fifteen standards coming into operation within the next few years and SGS’ team of experts in France is on standby to ensure that they remain abreast of all changes for the benefit of their clients, as SGS (http://www.hardlines.sgs.com/
) is fully aware of how vital client awareness is at the earliest possible stages of the development process. The global network of experts available within SGS is of first class quality and can support manufacturers and retailers with all their juvenile product needs, whether in the EU, USA, Brazil or China.
