Wakefield’s Plein Air Paint Out event at Sanborn Day in Wakefield was a tremendous success

Oct. 27, 2011 - PRLog -- Sanborn- Place, Home Care & Day Services hosted a multi chamber event with Reading-North Reading, Stoneham and Wakefield as a way to introduce the newly launched Sanborn Day Adult Day Services. The public and chamber members were welcomed to see the newly renovated facility and view art from Wakefield’s Plein Air Paint Out.  Located at the former site of Active Day and once known as Deerfield Adult Day Services, Sanborn Day  was a wonderful site to host the multi Chamber event and showcase local art work on the walls of the newly renovated facility. Reading-North Reading Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Irene Collins commented on the event, "It was a terrific night.  Sanborn Adult Day Services is a warm and beautiful facility.  It was a pleasure networking with the members of the Wakefield and Stoneham Chambers, as well as meeting the local artists.  We appreciate Sanborn Adult Day for bringing us together."  The opportunity to host the Paint Out by the lake was presented to Sanborn Day through Wakefield Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kendall Inglese and Plein Air Paint Out artist, founder and promoter Pam Perras when they collaborated on bringing together local artists and the business community. “We are so fortunate to have so many local, talented artists. We are fortunate to have such a rich artistic community and bringing the businesses and artists together is a great reminder of the importance of investing in the local arts and buying local artwork for their business instead of purchasing a mass produced poster,” stated Perras.  Inglese reached out to businesses looking to partner with artists to display paintings and as a new member to the Wakefield Chamber of Commerce, the multi chamber event at Sanborn Day brought artists and businesses together in one location.  “These artists live locally and spend money locally. Supporting them by purchasing their art will help them continue to support the communities they live in.”  The event was a nice reminder of the importance to “Buy Local” and Keep our Town Alive to Thrive!
