She studied watercolors in Germany for six months, where instruction on contemporary watercolor techniques influenced her unique and lively style. Her time in Europe gave her experience in traveling with watercolors, and painting in plein air, or in the field.
She painted many landscapes during her time in Europe, but is currently more interested in people. Her watercolors, like children, are immediate and mercurial.
Jamie hopes to capture the feel of some of the beautiful things that she sees around her. She hopes that her work fosters an appreciation for the small things that we often see every day, but sometimes forget to truly observe.
Contact her for comissions, prints, or more.
The reception is Nov 11/11, 6-9 pm Focal Point Gallery , 1215 East Franklin St.
