Local charities to benefit from Nunney 2012 calendar

Oct. 27, 2011 - PRLog -- Described as ‘the prettiest village in England’, Nunney is dominated by its 14th century moated castle and boasts over 30 listed buildings as well as a vibrant community life.  The large, high quality Nunney 2012 wall calendar celebrates Nunney throughout the year in 13 stunning photos by John Webb and David Chedgy.  

Each month features an image relevant to that particular month, including Nunney Fayre, Carols at Nunney Castle, Easter Sunday Duck Race and the annual Village Flower Show.  Naturally, beautiful images of Nunney All Saints Church in winter and Nunney Castle at spring have not been forgotten.

The price of every calendar sold includes a donation that will be split between two local registered charities.  The Nunney Community Association supports projects for local residents and children and organises many of the village’s community events.  Nunney Church Roof Appeal is raising money to replace the ceiling at Nunney All Saints Church, a Grade II* listed monument dating from the 12th century.

The Nunney 2012 calendar is an initiative of Visit Nunney, a not-for-profit subsidiary of Nunney-based digital media agency Russells Barton supporting tourism, culture and business in the castle village.  

Earlier this year Visit Nunney generated publicity in national newspapers, online and on radio for the 2011 Nunney Street Market and Fayre, resulting in record visitor numbers and record fundraising by local charities and community organisations on the day.

Russells Barton executive Adrie van der Luijt said: “The calendars are a perfect fit with our aim to promote Nunney and support community initiatives where we can.  I hope the local community will support the fundraising by buying one of these great calendars, so that we can give these wonderful local charities the vital cash they deserve.”
