Oct. 27, 2011 - PRLog -- Summerville, South Carolina, October 22, 2011 (TMPublishing.com) - When self help author, Kristen L. Baker, M.L.C.,M.S.L.C., daughter Lauren, returned from a outing at an indoor water park with her friends, her body was fire engine red, she was developing respiratory problems and blisters from the chemical burn, and ended her day being admitted to the hospital.

The next day, Lauren started her life time of chronic pain… Invisible Pain.

The mismanagement of the chemical level in the water park’s pool changed the direction of a young girl’s life, forever. Baker had to put her daughter’s experience on paper in order to help herself, her daughter and other people that are suffering from invisible pain. Her new book is entitled: “Invisible Pain, What You Can’t See Is Real!”

The book follows Lauren, from the age of nine, when she lost all the opportunities and ability to do the things she loved, through the years of coping and living with her pain.
It took three years to find the name for Lauren’s condition, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), also known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD). It’s a chronic pain syndrome that’s characterized by severe and relentless pain that affects between 200,000 and 1.2 million Americans.

Baker’s book is dedicated to helping those people that are living with invisible pain. Invisible pain, may not always be believed, understood or accepted by family, friends and healthcare providers.

Baker and her daughter, found the lack of acknowledgment from the medical profession regarding Lauren’s pain surprising. A total of a 132 medical visits and not one listened to mother and daughter!

You will read about different treatment options and relaxation, which will aid in pain reduction.

Baker, the author said, “You are heard. No more will you be invisible!”

If you have a friend or relative that is suffering from this condition, let them know they are not alone. Lauren’s story is one of inspiration and hope and perhaps is a road map for others to follow on how to cope with their own invisible pain. Identifying and Getting To Know Your Pain.

The book teaches you how to cope, and covers more than Lauren’s story, read about Sue’s Fibromyalgia, Judy’s Migraines and Jody’s CRPS, all sufferers from invisible pain in one form or another. Each story teaches us how they lived with their pain, which helps us live with ours.

Baker is sending a Healing Angel Token to Chicken in Hospitals for each Book sold!
