14 teams of four teed off at Falmouth Golf Club on Friday 7th October in the annual TMS Charity Golf Day that this year was dedicated to Anna Pike.
Anna worked as an adviser for TMS Financial Solutions’ Falmouth office and died in August after a short illness.
TMS’ Managing Director Clive Gwilliam said, “Anna was very popular with everyone who met her and was a very competent and professional adviser. She is sorely missed by all of us and it was her excellent treatment by the staff at Mount Edgcumbe which made us choose Cornwall Hospice Care as the recipient of the funds raised from the annual golf event.”
Originally scheduled for June, bad weather meant that the event was postponed until October, and the strong winds on the day simply made the course more challenging.
The First team in with 75 points comprised David Bradley, Mike Hodges, Phil Dyer and David Stephens. Second were Wayne Mitchell, Colin Dodds, Thurstan Hoskin and Paul Reed with 73 points and third were Alan Bradley, Patrick Brewster, Peter Heather and Paddy Bradley with 72 points. The Longest Drive for men was taken by Rich Perrin and for women, Jane White, whilst the men’s Nearest the Pin was won by Simon Foxall and the women’s, Debbie Howard.
Anna’s husband, Chris Pike awarded the prizes and made a touching speech about the work of the Cornwall Hospices and his gratitude for the care and attention given to Anna during her time at Mount Edgcumbe.
Clive Gwilliam, TMS’ Managing Director, presented the cheque for £1000 to the Truro representative of Cornwall Hospice Care, Clare Bray.
The tournament was sponsored by Brooks Macdonald, Discretionary Fund Managers, who manage the TMS Peninsula Range of Managed Portfolios.
