Union Square Ventures Raising Money for Early Stage Fund

The latest development in venture capital comes from the host city of Tuesday’s event, New York, where according to a peHUB report, Union Square Ventures has raised $116.5 million of the $200 million they need to start a new early stage fund.  

This would be Union Square's third early stage fund. Its first two invested in companies you may have heard of, like Zynga and Facebook and Foursquare.

With an internal rate of return of approximately 82.5% according to some reports, it’s easy to see why investors continue to hand over capital hand over fist to the hotshot firm, despite the overall dry spell in the fundraising landscape.
