One of a Kind American Sterling Silver Centerpiece by Whiting

Oct. 27, 2011 - PRLog -- This magnificent American Sterling Silver Centerpiece Bowl was made in the French Louis XVI Style by Whiting Mfg. Co. of Providence, RI, in 1913.

The centerpiece is of oval stylized Kylix form with two leaf capped strapwork handles. The rim and foot are each applied with an egg and dart border, the body and pedestal foot are pierced and engraved with a cast neoclassical frieze. This is an iconic piece of American Sterling Silver, made by the master silversmiths of Whiting just before World War I in the French Late 18th Century Style.

The interior of the bowl is fitted with a silverplated liner and a detachable gilt metal frog, with an urn shaped finial, for floral stability. The weight is over 104 104 Troy Ounces.
