PLAYMOBIL Malta hosts German Press Visit

Oct. 26, 2011 - PRLog -- The visiting delegation included journalists representing national newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung, leading business newspaper Handelsblatt, toy industry journal Fachzeitschrift TOYS, family-oriented lifestyle publication LUNA Magazin, as well as a Swiss blogger who specialises in parenting issues.

During their visit, the journalists were taken on a tour of the PLAYMOBIL factory in Ħal Far by Chief Operating Officer Matthias Fauser, where they could see how each of the 100 million plus Malta-made PLAYMOBIL figures are created and assembled every year, as well as how high safety standards are met.

The programme for the visit included an informal meeting with PLAYMOBIL Malta CEO Helga Ellul, who explained how a family business set up in 1974 was transformed into a global toy giant, followed by a presentation on the company’s Mould Construction Programme and the development of the PLAYMOBIL figure by Mould Shop Manager Guenther Kurz. Finally, the delegation visited the adjoining FunPark, before being hosted for lunch on the premises.
