The Scoop on Poop
Get down and dirty! Fish do it, frogs do it, pythons, eagles and elephants do it, yet poop is one of those subjects we find difficult to talk about with a straight face. “The Scoop on Poop!”, a fascinating, investigative exhibit based on the book by Dr. Wayne Lynch, invites kids of all ages to learn a lot about an animal by what it leaves behind. A tactful blend of good science and fun, the exhibit was created by Peeling Productions at Clyde Peeling’s Reptiland. Exhibit on display through January 8, 2012, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. daily in the Origen Museum. Free for members or included with GA.

Bryan Christiansen: Trophy Hunter
Challenging conventional notions about rural life, the rituals of the hunting tradition, home, and the innocence of childhood, artist Bryan Christiansen transforms discarded household furniture that he finds in neglected areas into assemblages that stand in for the trophies, antler mounts, and pelts so often prized by hunters. Stalking the prey for his sculptures takes Christiansen into forgotten city alleyways and parking lots in search for discarded furniture that he then takes back to his studio and transforms into sculptures. Exhibit on display through January 22, 2012, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. daily in the Origen Museum. Free for members or included with general admission.

From Poop to Profits – Feature Film
Dairy farmer turns entrepreneur! From Poop to Profits (11 minutes) features the never-give-up story of dairy farmer Brad Morgan. When falling milk prices threatened his farm, Morgan pitched a new idea for turning manure into something consumers would value. Saturdays and Sundays at 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. throughout November. Free for members or included with General Admission (GA).
