For the comfort of our patients and clients, we provide a separate entrance and waiting area for our canine and feline patients. Just follow the signs which will lead you to the dog or cat entrance and waiting room. Once in the hospital, our receptionists will be happy to assistant you. They are also available to answer your questions on the phone, update on your pet's condition and make appointments. Our hospital is computerized and has terminals throughout the hospital to help process your records. Our professional staff includes Dr. McLemore, the owner of Gateway Animal Hospital, Dr. Victor Povis who has been at the hospital since 1989, Dr. Roy Faulkner, staff surgeon and Dr. Richard Brutus. Between our professional staff, Gateway Animal Hospital has over 100 years of practice experience. Dr. Crispin Spencer is a Board Certified Radiologist who reviews all radiographs at Gateway Animal Hospital. We have a complete "in house" laboratory which allows us to perform fecal examinations, heartworm testing, complete blood counts, serum chemistries and blood coagulation. Our veterinary technicians are trained to perform all blood analyzing. Having the ability to perform "in house" laboratory procedures enables us to get immediate results for our patients. At Gateway Animal Hospital we provide complete surgical services. We are fully equipped and have the ability to perform all routine procedures and also more involved procedures, such as orthopedic, thoracic, urologic, intestinal and neurosurgery. Dr. Faulkner is our staff surgeon and provides the majority of our surgical procedures. We are very proud of our radiographic capabilities and strive to produce excellent radiographs which allows us to evaluate a pet's condition fully. We have an automatic processor which gives us a completely developed and dry radiograph within 90 seconds. We also have Dr. Crispin Spencer, a veterinary board certified radiologist, to review all our films and act as a consultant. In addition to performing routine radiographic studies, we also have ultrasound capabilities. We provide boarding for dogs and cats. We have stainless runs and cages for our tenants. We provide daily exercise and only the best quality foods. We also can provide special diets for patient's with a need. Our bathing facilities will accommodate cats, small dogs and large dogs. In addition, we can provide medicated and therapeutic baths. Simple grooming needs such as ear cleansing and clipping your pet's nails are also provided. Keeping a fully updated pharmacy is vital for patient care. Our computer system also allows us to provide clearly printed pharmacy labels that are easily readable. We provide a full line of quality diets for our patient's. We have special prescription diets for medical conditions which require certain dietary restrictions.
