The company recently celebrated the launch of Gridloch, a new “edutainment”
The dynamic adventure game app is based on the numeracy edition of CanUCards, which are used widely throughout the Australian education system.
The game takes players on a quest through the lands of Historia, while challenging them with math-style quizzes and a number of entertaining mini games.
iApps managing director Rick Hoy said his team involved in development of the app was challenged when it came to entering the questions and answers.
“There were more than a few puzzled looks during development and testing,” he said.
“The game certainly tested our memory and math skills.
“We are planning to market the app to the education system. It takes the traditional CanUCards from paper-based to an engaging, interactive environment.”
Gridloch is the latest in a string of apps developed by the Coast company, which recently unveiled FaceYak, which enables users to “mash” faces on-screen.
Tourism Noosa officials made use of the company to develop “By Noosa”, which is taking promotion of the region to a new level.
iApps last year also created FlightBOX, which specifically targets the aviation industry.
