Long Grove Invisalign Provider Buying Back Halloween Candy for Operation Gratitude

Oct. 24, 2011 - PRLog -- LONG GROVE, ILLINOIS - Kids, teens and maybe some adults, dressed up as their favorite character and spent the evening collecting a stash of Halloweencandy.
The pediatric dentistry experts and orthodontists at Affiliated Dental Specialists are giving their patients a chance to sell it all back.

The second annual Halloween Candy Buy Back will be onNovember 1 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Vernon Hills and Gurnee offices.Dr. Richard Port, a Long Grove Invisalign provider (http://www.affiliateddentalspecialists.com), says each pound of candy paysa dollar, up to fivedollars.

"Candy is bad news for dental health and braces (http://www.affiliateddentalspecialists.com/braces_children.php), so we use this event as a way to minimize the detrimental effects," says Dr. David Maddox, a kids’ dentist.

Last year's event was a big success, according to Dr. Cameron Wagner. He says, "The patients from our dental offices brought in a total of 448 pounds of candy, which we were able to donate to a great organization."
The candy was sent to Operation Gratitude, an organization that sends care packages to U.S. Service Members deployed in hostile regions or recuperating from wounds at a transition unit and to their children at home.
