Salt Lake City, UT, October 24th, 2011 – Colmek has announced today their contract award from the leading Turkish contractor VESTEL SAVUNMA SANYANI A.S. The computer systems will be installed on the Tactical UAV Project, and utilize innovative design characteristics formulated by the Colmek engineering team. The resulting hardware solution allows for the production of a lightweight, compact design, while adhering to price sensitivity. VESTEL SAVUNMA SANYANI A.S selected Colmek through months of technical discussion and review of the desired specifications and requirements. The resulting system, optimally designed to address space and weight, will perform within constrained airborne deployments where reliable high performance computing is required. The system is designed to meet MIL-STD conditions and utilizes a custom Colmek 28VDC avionics power supply.
Having a long-history of assisting defense prime contractors, Colmek began this effort with their typical custom services approach, eventually providing VESTEL a test module to validate the concept and communicate all engineering changes during this test period. Emphasis was placed on optimizing the computers capability to synthesize multiple layers of real-time graphical data.
