Set to a staggeringly beautiful soundtrack, the spectacular Peak District scenery is blasted in our faces as we're shown instantly the magic this wonderful place holds for a photographer, whatever their speciality. We see the mood and the light, the dawn and the dusk and I for one wish with all my heart I could capture it all on film or camera but I can't. I leave it up to landscape photographers like James Grant and wildlife photographer James Dobson, but envy the talents of them all Fine art photographers, photographers alike - they are true masters of their art, wizards at their craft.
We're shown how hard it is, see an insight into just two of the craftsmen, wish we could see more. But two very diverse subjects are explored and we see how hard it is, how passionate these people are -how crazy too, when we see one of them negotiating a tripod in flowing waterfalls, getting up at silly o'clock to capture the light, everyday of the year, whatever the weather. It takes hard work and passion, diligence, patience and extraordinary skill to capture a mood, a place in time, a wildlife subject always on the move.
The panorama is flabbergasting , a sight not a lot of us will ever see but Terry takes us there, but then we see the photographs that can be taken if you have the talent, if you have the urge. The perfectly timed strains of music coincide with insightful knowledge written in short bursts across the screen, tempting and teasing us with little bits of information we would never know. We see an insight into a photographer's mind, a brief moment of their day captured on film. Shy creatures themselves, like any good artist they are humble and what you see is what you get - superb shots taken by mere Peak District dwellers - but they so good and we can but envy them. Watching this video we are transported there, a brief glimpse of their lives and we wish with all our hearts we had the time and the patience to achieve the same dream.
To be a Photographer in the Peak District must be heaven on earth - lucky people indeed!
