Transoft Solutions, developers of industry leading software for the global engineering communities, has recently released GuidSIGN 6.0. For over 15 years, the GuidSIGN CAD software line has provided transportation engineers a way to design complex highway and roadway traffic signs. The latest version now includes support for the current US MUTCD (Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices) 2009 standards and a host of improvements making guide panels a much simpler process.
“We are extremely pleased to be bringing our most powerful and flexible version of GuidSIGN to the market to support engineers with their designs of MUTCD 2009 compliant signs,” said Michael Frost, Business Development Manager at Transoft Solutions. “This new version features improved color support with built in MUTCD color sets along with the ability to use RGB color values. GuidSIGN customers can now match precise MUTCD color requirements for graphic output and then extend the applications potential use for new business opportunities designing signs for public or private accessed facilities for example, airports, hospitals, military bases.”
Further commenting on how the new version of GuidSIGN can assist with engineers’ traffic sign design projects, Mr. Frost had this to say, “Significant functional improvements have been made for defining multi-headed custom arrows and for precise object placement and positioning. Due to the new release of federal standards, GuidSIGN 6.0 is also being supported by new comprehensive libraries of objects required for all types of sign legends. Our initial product launch has made a significant impression with our existing customers that have immediately moved this new release into production design.”
Key GuidSIGN 6.0 features include the following:
•Support for the US MUTCD 2009 with new panel styles (guide, street, exit, regulatory, warning, construction)
•New Exit panel styles for HOV, Toll, Exit Number, and Exit Only sign design.
•New object snapping capabilities and updated short line functionality for easier object and text lettering placement and positioning in panel design.
•Compatibility with CAD platforms Autodesk® AutoCAD® 2012 and Bentley® MicroStation®
