We all know what success looks like, but how do really accomplished people overcome hurdles to achieve so much?

That's what author Steve Busalacchi will discuss at the Overture Center's Rotunda Studio on Friday, October 21, 2011 at 8:00 p.m. Busalacchi, an award-winning former Wisconsin Public Radio medical reporter and health communications specialist, is the author of White Coat Wisdom: Extraordinary Doctors Talk About What They Do, How They Got There and Why Medicine Is So Much More Than a Job.

Busalacchi's presentation Friday is Entitled, "Finding Success around Dark Corners." His talk will include brief audio excerpts from the book interviews that formed the manuscript.

"Even really smart people struggle, perhaps more than you might imagine," says Busalacchi, an Honorary Fellow at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine & Public Health. University of Wisconsin Press is sponsoring his presentation. "We all have a lot to learn from accomplished people, including doctors, because the same principles apply to anybody in any profession or endeavor," adds Busalacchi.

Former US Surgeon General, C. Everett Koop, MD, endorsed White Coat Wisdom "as a good read for anyone," while StoryCorps Founder, Dave Isay, calls the book a "compelling, enlightening and skillful work of oral history."
