Leeds company up for top business award

Oct. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- Brandon Medical Co Ltd, has picked up the regional Innovation Through Technology Award, sponsored by Dell, for Yorkshire and Humberside, for the third year running.

The Holme Well Road business is now a finalist in its category for the UK title in the Chamber Awards hosted by the British Chambers of Commerce, which were created to celebrate the UK’s most successful businesses.

Not only has Brandon Medical collected three regional Chamber awards, the high tech firm, also won the Outstanding Business Achievement Award in 2009.

The specialist firm designs, manufactures and exports a range of medical equipment including surgical theatre lights.  The company plans to double its size every three years and has done this three times already.  This time it is well-ahead with a new range of well-researched products due to be launched.

Brandon’s most transformative breakthrough, was the HD-LED technology, which solved the fundamental flaws in existing surgical theatre lighting.

Having won a regional award, Brandon Medical is now in the running for the national title in its category, as well as the chance to collect the Award for Outstanding Business Achievement – with a top prize of £25,000 and runner up prizes of £15,000 and £10,000.

There are nine categories, backed by high profile sponsors including RBS and NatWest, BT Business, BT Directories, Dell, DHL Express, the British Standards Institution (BSI), AXA PPP healthcare and Westfield Health. The national winners will be announced at a ceremony at London’s Grand Connaught Rooms on November 24th 2011.
